My First Icebreaker Speech

Mr Toastmaster, fellow members and guest. This is my first Icebreaker speech. I am standing here to share the fast forward journey of my life.

My name is Abhishek Prasoon. I leave in Sector18B Dwarka. I am Senior Project Manager working with a software company Akhil Systems. Development of Web; Mobile and The tablet application is my core area. We develop and manage Healthcare software products for Big Hospitals, Pharmacy and Clinics chains. Earlier I worked with NIIT and HCL and having 12 years of experience in this field. I am a master degree holder in Computer Application and Business Management.

I divided my life in 3 phases.

Phase 1

I have born in Daltonganj a small town of Jharkhand. Their people know each other by his name. This is a very beautiful Town surrounded by Forest, Rivers and Waterfall. A famous Betla National park is Just 25 KM from Daltonganj. Netarhat the only Hill station of Jharkhand is 150 km away from my town. I am an elder in 3 siblings, so little pampered too. I usually take a bike and visit the forest with my friends and spend hours in Forest and riverbeds.  My mind is not very stable. As a child, I always wanted to be an actor. In school, I wanted to go to the army after some time I wanted to become Pilot.  At the age of 13, I learnt to drive a motorcycle and car, although it’s not the legal age of driving but who cares those days?  I was average in study. Except for study, I did everything but somehow I manage to complete my schooling. I enjoyed my Childhood lot.

Phase-2

After schooling at the age of17, I want to Russia for Higher Education. Most of people think why Russia? Why not other places of the world? That another story for another day. I am not going there. I reached to a different world. I am in a cultural sock. Everything is different there; I think I was on another planet. Language, Food, Climate, Currency and Education System everything is different. Seeing snowfall the first time in my life is a memorable experience. I spend one and a half year there and enjoyed my tenure. This visit helps me to adapt to a new culture and environment and coordinate with new people.

Phase-3

I want to Share one life-changing experience of my life. I was in Final year of graduation and travelling by bus from Ranchi to my home town. The road was hilly and suddenly a bike hit to bus from the front side. The driver immediately applied a break. We came down from the bus and see a dead body of pillion rider is lying on the road. I saw death in front of my eyes. I realize life is very small and uncertain. I have to do something to make my life meaningful.

After graduation I come to Delhi. Completed my MCA and Joined NIIT as a Software Engineer. I entered into the rat race and to win this race I did everything. Changed Many Jobs, Acquired new knowledge related to my field. Completed many certifications and MBA.  Experiment new things like learning French and Japanese.

I liked travelling pretty much and except North East, I have travelled every port of this country. Photography is my second love. I can spend hours with my digital SLR. In leisure time I go for a walk, cycling and Swimming.

My Bucket List

In my bucket list, few things are pending.

·       I want to start my own venture.

·       Want to see northern lights and Penguins

·       Want to spend a complete year in Europe

·       Drive Audi

·       PMP Certification

A very great Greek philosopher said that the only thing is constant in life is change. My life is a perfect example of this change how I became a stable and peaceful person from an unstable person. This change made me break the Ice stone. Over to toastmaster.
